Decoding the Palegar’s Cuisine
Palegars (Palegara / Pallayyakkara) are the valorous military chieftains who administered pockets of land across Rayalaseema, parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. These lords held lands, maintained armies and protected the subjects since the age of illustrious Kakatiya kings. They were the first to rebel against the atrocities that the British inflicted. Unfortunately, their tales of valour were lost in the annals of history.
We are here to bring the Palegar’s spirit through the unique cuisine, and preserve it. Kritunga resonates with the passion and beauty of the simple folks, the culinary culture that is both rustic and elegant, a commitment to the legacy of the Palegars, and a step to cater to the seekers of authenticity.
